NASDAQ 100- A stock index that consists of 107 assets issued by the 100 largest US and international companies listed on the NASDAQ, with the exception of companies in the financial industry. It includes thriving companies operating in the sector of new technologies/Hi-Tech.

S&P 500- is an index which includes the 500 companies with the largest market capitalization listed on the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ and are mostly American in origin. This index is managed by Standard &Poor’s branch, McGraw-Hill.

Nikkei 225- Anindex of shares listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Nikkei is the most important stock index in Asia. Since 1971, it is calculated daily by the Nihon Keizai Shimbun. The index contains 225 companies with the largest capital in Japan. The opening session, by Polish time, occurs at 1:00. Closing at 7:00 in the morning.

CAC 40- French stock index, the benchmark stock exchange in Euronext. This index brings together the 40 strongest companies among the 100 highest capital on the Paris Stock Exchange (Bourse de Paris).

DAX- One of the most important German share index. It is called –“the resulting index”- which means that It takes into account not only the increase in share prices, but also the increase in the share capital by dividendpayment. It shows the change in value of shares of the 30 largest public companies in terms of capitalization and turnover.

FTSE MIB- This stock index consists of shares of the largest and most liquid companies listed on the Stock Exchange in Milan. The index was launched on 31 December 1992 under MIB30 name (Milano Italia Borsa).

FTSE 100- index of shares of companies listed on the Stock Exchange in London (LSE).

The index includes 100 of the largest companies meeting the many liquidity requirements, capitalization and other conditions. The FTSE is considered a barometer of the British economy. Companies included in the index represent about 80% of the market capitalization at the LSE.

Dow Jones Industrial Average- one of the most important indices of companies listed on the Stock Exchange in New York (NYSE) and NASDAQ. This index was created by Charles Dow and Edward Jones. The Dow Jones is the oldest operating share index in the United States. At present, it consists out of the 30 largest US companies.
